Treatment options overview-
Scoliosis is measured in degrees using the cobb angle. To see the severity of scoliosis one must have an X-ray taken such as the one in the picture above and the cobb angle is measured in degrees as can be seen in the picture below. A cobb angle of over 10 degrees is classified as scoliosis. Over from 25-40 degrees bracing is usually recommended if there is growth left. Over 50 degrees surgery is recommended and from 40-50 degrees is known as the 'gray area' where bracing/surgery/observation is recommended depending on the doctor, type of curve, patient and stability of curve. There are many specific treatment options depending on the scoliosis case. Physiotherapy, Bracing and Surgery are however the most used and common methods used to treat/help scoliosis.
